Les Portes du Soleil is a 'natural powder reserve' in the heart of the Alps. It offers skiers and snowboarders a pristine environment, snowy forests and many wonderful trails that wind their way through beautiful Alpine meadows and spruce forests. In Les Crosets you find "Le Mur" a challenging black run, which will test even the best skiers. In short, enjoy the hundreds of runs.
Gastronomy
Along the ski runs of the Swiss and French Alps you will find many lovely places to eat, all of which offer not only the best of French cuisine but also such well-known and ever-popular Swiss favourites such as cheese fondue, rosti and raclette. Enjoy their hospitality and allow yourself to be surprised by the delicious Swiss wines, such as Dole and Humange, which are only ever exported in strictly limited amounts.
Portes du Soleil
is one of the world's largest ski paradises. You will find more than 200 lifts crossing the borders of France and Switzerland, with no fewer than 12 ski resorts making up this vast playground sandwiched between the majesty of Mont Blanc and the serene beauty of Lake Geneva. Some of the most famous resorts in Portes du Soleil are Avoriaz, Châtel, Les Gets and Morzine (in France) and Champéry, Morgins and Les Crosets (in Switzerland).
Near Geneva
If you want to fly to Les Portes du Soleil, it is best to fly to Geneva. The international airport is a one-and-a-half-hour drive from Les Crosets. At the airport there is a train station with a fast connection to Aigle, where you can change to the mountain railway which takes you to Val d'Illiez and Champéry, or order a 7-seater taxi-bus which is waiting at the airport.
